The disappearance into the Outback in 1848 of Leichhardt and his party is one of the most enduring mysteries in Australia's history. When, nearly 100 years later, four stockmen drove a herd of cattle across a remote property in Queensland and came across some strange artefacts, it seemed as if some of the questions surrounding Leichhardt's disappearance might be answered.
